Meet the Team
Amos—Innovation Man
A cum laude honors graduate from the University of Oregon economics department, Amos works as a liaison with referring offices, solving service-related challenges and serves as the coordinator for Exploring Excellence Study Club. Although not a certified math geek, he enjoys incorporating analytical techniques to various aspects of his work at the practice. An all-around athlete with a zeal for outdoor sports, Amos can be found on a field playing soccer, working through the crux on a tough climb or bombing down single-track on any given day. Whatever you do, don’t bring up the Afro wig incident.
Carrie—Hawkeye with a Ponytail
Carrie joined the crew after graduating from the assisting program at Lane Community College. First Mate on the phone vessel and the sixth woman on the assisting team, Carrie is our Template Monitor and a Certified Dental Assistant, which means she schedules concisely and accurately and supports patients also in their clinical care. Her versatility and adaptability are second to none, as she is able to flow between various roles at the practice effortlessly. Her proficiency with accessing insurance information online boosts the level of care and the expediency of claims processing for our patients. Think of her as a double agent without a gun or fake mustache.
Denise—The Missing Spice Girl
Denise joined our team shortly after graduating from Lane Community College’s Dental Assisting Program. With an ever-present smile and endless supply of humor, Denise truly lives in the moment. She inspires everyone she comes in contact with to appreciate the opportunity of choosing one’s attitude—and to choose a positive one.
Denise loves to travel, enjoying Jamaica, Spain, Mexico and many parts of the US on her various journeys.
Her family and church are central to her life and loves to play soccer, go shopping and spend time with her friends.
Elena—Princes of 1,000 Smiles
Go ahead, try not to smile when you meet her. You can’t help but feel better when you encounter Elena’s warm visage. A proud mom to a handsome baby boy and dedicated team player, she balances her family and work admirably. Along with her contagious smile, Elena has a diverse linguistic background and is a terrific resource for our Spanish-speaking patients.
Gina—Ms. Fitness NSA
Gina joined our team with years of experience working in the medical field. Her expertise with insurance companies and patient communication boosts the level of patient care at the practice. Gina’s dedication to her health, family and welcoming the patients who enter our practice is inspiring. She and her family enjoy being in the great outdoors, especially camping and riding ATV’s. If you’re lucky, she might invite you to her monthly Bunco extravaganza.
Kathy-Victor of Versatility
Our practice is on the forefront of dental implant treatment. Kathy is your primary resource and consultant for dental implant treatment. She can help you with anything from scheduling your procedures to answering insurance questions to communicating with your general dentist about your stage of treatment. If anyone could be a perfect blend of assertiveness and professionalism, it would be Kathy. She is active in community service organizations and a constant support of her son’s academic and sport activities.
Nanci—Kindness Incarnate
With an instinct for perceiving others’ needs, Nanci gracefully supports patients throughout their treatment process. After taking a family sabatical, she has resumed her work as a surgical assistant and we are honored to have her on our team. Nanci is her family’s 5th generation in Coburg and is active in the community and her children’s sports and extra-curricular activities. She and her husband are in the process of remodeling their 130 year-old house, bringing their home into the current millenia. They are also considering updating their modes of transportation as well—there really isn’t a good place to park a horse in the city these days.
Tracey--Conqueror of Chaos
A team-member who’s been there from the start, Tracey is the Lead Assistant at the practice. She oversees ordering of clinical materials and is responsible for compliance of OSHA regulations. Tracey has a sharp eye for detail and cares for our patients in a competent and compassionate manner. She has developed a sixth sense for anticipating and detecting Dr. Welch’s needs while assisting him in clinical treatment. We call it Timopathy.
Tracey lives with her husband near Eugene where they enjoy the serenity of nature and raising animals.
Tracie—Lady Ladybug
Buzzing through the day, this unique insect transforms each place she lands on. With a diverse background rich in experience, Tracie elevates the level of care at the practice with her attention to others’ needs. Tracie supports team members with genuine care and understanding. She is an effectionate wife and a proud mom, participating in her childrens’ sports and supporting their endeavors in every way.
Make sure to stay on her good side--she has an inner prankster that needs occasional expression.
Becky
With a strong background in assisting various types of dental procedures, Becky joined our team in 2005 and has been a wonderful support for patients and team alike. A self-proclaimed "country girl" with a love for Jeeps, Harleys and Dachshunds, Becky fares consistently well in the high-tech clinical environment at Northwest Surgical Arts. With a smile that never leaves her face and a clever saying always on the tip of her tongue, Becky keeps everyone’s spirits high. If you need a helping hand, a laugh, or just want to ride on the back of a custom hog, Becky’s your choice.
